Our Mission Statement

Community School 13 believes in challenging ourselves to strive for excellence and encourages others to do the same.  We will accomplish this by respecting all members of our community, through modeling and demonstrating positive work ethics and behaviors, and by achieving rigorous academic goals!

Hey students, can you feel the love? Your wonderful teachers and principals really want you to do well on your tests! Watch our inspirational video (filmed by Ms. O'Neill and Ms. Quezada).

Want to see evidence of how School 13 is ready to ROCK THE TEST? Ms. O'Neill's and Ms. Spagna's students decorated t-shirts with motivational messages for each other to do well on the New York State ELA and Math assessments! Ms. O'Neill and Ms. Spagna even wore extra special t-shirts letting their students know how much they love them, and to show how confident they are that their students will ROCK THE TEST!!!

Congratulations Community School 13!
Dear parents, teachers, administrators, and students - you all should be proud of the effort you have been making to raise our test scores! Community School 13 is no longer in danger of falling into receivership! In late February, we learned that our school has improved from "priority" status to "focus" status, and we are close to achieving "good standing" status! Good job, everyone!

Apple iPads in use at School 13

Students as young as PreK are already learning to use iPads at Community School 13. The interactive tablets allow students to practice writing letters, reading words, and creating images.

Did you know that Community School 13 is a S.T.E.A.M. school?
This means that every classroom in our school focuses on teaching children the value of:

Science
Technology
Engineering
Arts
Mathematics

Our teachers are hard at work designing new science-based lessons to help our students experience what it is like to work as a scientist or an engineer.

Important Notices:

Our school uniform colors have changed to light blue and dark blue! Students should wear a light blue shirt and a dark blue skirt or pant.
