Peter Joseph Oratorical Competitor: Jomarlyn Vargas
Tuesday, May 24, 2016, our very own Jomarlyn Vargas (8th grade) participated in the annual Peter Joseph Oratorical Competition held during the evening at Yonkers Middle High School. Jomarlyn was coached by her social studies teacher, Ms. Guarino, and she performed flawlessly while reciting Abraham Lincoln's famous Gettysburg Address.

Look for future updates about our first annual S.T.E.A.M Fair at Community School 13, tentatively scheduled for June 14, 2016 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. The students are going to have their STEAM projects on display for all to see! Parents are welcome! Please try to attend!

Congratulations Community School 13!
Dear parents, teachers, administrators, and students - you all should be proud of the effort you have been making to raise our test scores! Community School 13 is no longer in danger of falling into receivership! In late February, we learned that our school has improved from "priority" status to "focus" status, and we are close to achieving "good standing" status! Good job, everyone!

Apple iPads in use at School 13

Students as young as PreK are already learning to use iPads at Community School 13. The interactive tablets allow students to practice writing letters, reading words, and creating images.

Did you know that Community School 13 is a S.T.E.A.M. school?
This means that every classroom in our school focuses on teaching children the value of:

Science
Technology
Engineering
Arts
Mathematics

Our teachers are hard at work designing new science-based lessons to help our students experience what it is like to work as a scientist or an engineer.

Important Notices:

Our school uniform colors have changed to light blue and dark blue! Students should wear a light blue shirt and a dark blue skirt or pant.
